Crossmaglen Rangers footballer Caolan Finnegan has passed away a year after being diagnosed with brain cancer. The 20 year old played for his club as recently as last year and Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney said after the All Ireland victory that he would have almost certainly been part of the winning squad but for his illness. Armagh captain Aidan Forker visited Caolan with the Sam Maguire Cup in recent weeks while the Crossmaglen club noted that he dealt with his illness with 'enormous courage, strength and dignity'.
