The 2026 Cyclo-Cross national championships will be hosted by the Breffni Wheelers at Castle Saunderson this weekend. A range of races will be held over Saturday and Sunday at the Cavan venue with competitiors coming from all over Ireland and further a field. Registration on the Saturday opens from 9:30 with practice from the same time while on Sunday its a 9am start with the course also opening at that time
Meanwhile Lara Gillespie will not defend her title at next month's European Track Cycling Championships in Turkey. The Wicklow native, who also won gold in the elimination race at last year's Worlds, has committed to her road cycling team. Cycling Ireland will send a nine-strong team to Turkey next month, with Mia Griffin also missing the event.
