Rory Gallagher is planning without a number of players due to club commitments

Following on from Monaghan announcing their starting 15 for their first competitive outing of 2022, Derry have also named their team for this evenings (Fri 7th) encounter in Owenbeg. Manager Rory Gallagher will be planning without his representatives from the Slaughtneill club who have an All Ireland hurling club semi final to look forward too, while Steelstowns Ben Mc Carron and Donnacha Gilmore will be contesting the intermediate Ulster club final on Sunday, however it is still a strong side that is due to take to the field with a blend of experience and youth. Oran Lynch is set to start in goal with a full back line of Conor Mc Cluskey, Padraig Mc Grogan and Shea Downey. Paul Cassidy , Benny Heron and Matthew Downey are in the half forward line with Niall Toner, Niall Loughlin and Lachlan Murray completing a strong forward unit.

Throw in for that encounter this evening is at 7:45pm and we will have full live commentary on a special sports Friday. Elsewhere in the competition tonight in Section A Donegal play Down in Ballybofey,
