Monaghan seen their U20 ulster championship campaign come to an end at the final stage last night (Wednesday) as Tyrone made it a 3 in a row of provincial titles with a 4-19 to 22 point win at the Box-it Athletic Grounds. It was the Farney side who started the brighter as they raced into a 6 point to 1 lead after 10 minutes however a goal from Shea Mc Dermott midway through the first half threw the Red hand county a lifeline that they never give back as further goals from Conor O'Neill and Aodhan Quinn give them a 3-11 to 11 point lead a the break. Monaghan did reply with a run of scores at the start of the 2nd half to get the gap down to 3 points but a 4th goal from sub Darragh Donaghy sealed the win for the defending champions. Tyrone will now face the Leinster champoins in the All Ireland semi final.
