Donegal claimed a 12th Dr. McKenna Cup with a convincing 12-point win over Monaghan.
Jim McGuinness side controlled the game, particularly in the second-half, having led 1-7 to six points at half-time.
Stephen Mooney opened the scoring with a fifth minute free. However, it was the only time Monaghan led in the game. Shea Malone responded with a Donegal goal a minute later. Hugh McFadden added a point two minutes later to move Donegal three clear.
Ryan Duffy and Turlough Car exchanged points. Points from Conor O'Donnell and Hugh McFadden moved Donegal five points clear on 17 minutes.
However, Monaghan got moving with points from Jason Irwin, Thomas Hughes and Mooney made it at two point game, three minutes before half-time.
Kevin Muldoon and Thomas Hughes exchanged points before a Gavin Mulreany two-pointer send Donegal in four points clear at half-time.
A Gavin Mulreany two-pointer cancelled out Andrew Woods second-half opener for Monaghan.
David Garland points made it 1-9 to eights after 40 minutes. Conor O'Donnell and Shea Malone tagged on scores for Donegal with Louis Kelly adding the farneys ninth point of the evening. Points from Eion McGeehin and Calon McColgan made it 1-13 to 0-9 with 10 minutes remaining.
Michael Bannigan responded with a point. However, Shea Malone wrapped it up seven minutes from time with a goal. Kian Mulligan converted a 26th minute 45 to round-out Monaghan's scoring.
A Jason McGee two-pointer and singles from Conor McCahill and Ryan McHugh rounded out a Donegal win 2-17 to 11-points.
