The final round of games in the Cavan senior football championship throw in this Sunday with 4 of the 8 quarter final places secured while 5 teams are vying for the remaining knock out spots. Crosserlough and Kingscourt are unbeaten as they have 3 wins from 3 outings and sit on 6 points. They face each other in Hugh O'Reilly Memorial park where a win for either side will confirm their top of the table placing. Ramor united and Gowna are on 5 points having had 2 wins and a draw each and they face each other at Lavey were again the result will determine their placing in the top 4. Ballyhaise and Mullahoran currently sit on 4 points in 5th and 6th place and are due to meet in Cornafean. Both sides would look to be on course for a quarter final spot but results elsewhere could still be a factor depending on how their fixture goes. One of the fixtures of the weekend will be the meeting of Cavan Gaels and Killygarry who are on 2 points and in 7th and 8th place respectively. They meet in Crosskeys, knowing that a victory for either could be vital in ensuring their progress to the knockout stages of the competition. Arva are in 9th on 2 points by viture of score difference and they face Castlerahan who are without a win where again depending on the result it could seen them sneek into a top 8 place. That game throws in at Lacken while Ballinagh and Laragh Utd who are both without a win meet in Drumlane.

In the junior championship the first of the quarter finals throws in this evening (Thursday) as Kill take on Redhills at 8pm in Kingspan Breffni. The county ground will host all of the last 8 fixtures with Swanlinbar and Belturbet on Saturday at 2:30 while it is a double header on Sunday as Shannon Gaels and Drung are first up at 3:30 followed by the meeting of Munterconnaught and Templeport at 5:30.
The intermediate quarter finals are also down for Decision this weekend with Kingspan Breffni again the venue for all the action. Tomorrow evening (Friday) at 8:15, Cuchulainns face Denn while on Saturday Killinkere take on Ballymachugh at 5 with Cootehill and Cornafean at 7. On Sunday Baileboro take on Butlersbridge at 7:15.
