The Lilywhites inflicted a first league defeat on table toppers Shamrock Rovers

It's a quick turnaround as Dundalk FC travel to Dalymount Park on Monday evening (Monday 24th) to take on Bohemians in series 13 of the SSE Airtricity League. The Lilywhites got back to winning ways on Friday evening with an outstanding victory over reigning champions Shamrock Rovers at Oriel Park. In an entertaining encounter, Patrick McEleney gave the home side the lead however it was cancelled out almost immediately by Joey O'Brien. Daniel Kelly struck in the second half to seal a much needed 2-1 win for the Wee County side. That result sees Dundalk stay seventh in the table and they are now level on points with opponents Bohemians who are ahead on goal difference. The Gypsies suffered a 2-1 defeat to St. Patrick's Athletic on Friday night.

Bohs have beaten the Lilywhites already this season with a Georgie Kelly penalty securing a 1-0 win at Oriel Park back in April. That extended their four match unbeaten run over Dundalk in the league however they did have a 4-1 success against them on their way to claiming the FAI Cup last year.
