Farrell could feature against Ireland this coming weekend.

England rugby captain Owen Farrell is free to play again immediately. Farrell, received a red card against Wales, which a disciplinary hearing has overturned.

The England captain was sent-off during Saturday’s 19-17 World Cup warm-up win. Having received a yellow card for a dangerous tackle on Taine Basham. The ‘Bunker’ review system, upgraded the yellow card to red.

However, the hearing decided that Jamie George’s actions in the contact area provided enough mitigation to downgrade the decision.

A six-week suspension looked a conceivable prospect originally, but Farrell is now free to play again immediately.

The England number 10 could even play their warm-up friendly against Ireland this coming weekend.

The captain's availability for England’s first two World Cup games against Argentina and Japan is a major boost for Steve Borthwick’s side.
