Focus on Hurling as football takes a break

Monaghan will be looking to make it back to back wins

The focus this weekend will be on hurling with the National football league taking a break. On Saturday Monaghan will be looking to make it back to back wins in Division 4 when they host Longford in Paric Gratten Inniskeen at 2pm. Following an opening day loss to promotion favourites Sligo, the Farney side picked up their first points in round 2 with a 1-23 to 2-16 victory over Lancashire. Longford are unbeaten so far in the competition with wins over Leitrim and Cavan. The Breffni side had opened their league account with a victory over Warwickshire in round 1 but suffered a 2 point loss to Longford last weekend. Manager Ollie Bellew remarked it was disappointing to have suffered a loss

Cavan have a bye this weekend in the competition with their next outing on Feburary 21st when they host Lancashire.
