Joe Pat Prunty who was best known for his pioneering development work on sports grounds particularly in regards to drainage and playing surfaces has passed away.
The high esteem with which the Fermanagh business man was held was to be seen with the "Prunty Pitch" often heralded as the best surface to play on and proved to be very popular both with GAA clubs and counties.
That expertise was also extended to Soccer, Rugby and cricket. John Pat retired from the business a number of years ago with the "Prunty Pitch" legacy been carried on by his immediate family.
A book detailing his life was also released in recent years entitled " A lifetime of football Fields and Faith"
John Pat was laid to rest on Sunday in Newtownbutler and is survived by his wife Angela, sons John and Joseph and daughters Edel,Maria and Nora.
