Monaghan will look to reach the Ulster Semi final this weekend

With the 2nd weekend of the provincial championships complete, the competitions are taking shape. In Ulster Tyrone and Armagh are set to meet at the semi final stage following their quarter final wins over Cavan and Antrim respectively. The Red hand county put any disappointment at been relegated from Division 1 in the league behind them as they registered a comfortable win over the Breffni side. Speaking afterwards, Cavan manager Raymond Galligan remarked that their own performance was below what they would have expected

Cavan will now enter the All Ireland series.

The other semi final pairings in Ulster will be decided this weekend as Monaghan welcome Donegal to St Tiernachs Park Clones on Sunday while Fermanagh and Down meet in Brewster park in Enniskillen.on Saturday afternoon. In Leinster, the semi final pairings will see Dublin renew their rivlary with Meath while Kildare and Louth are on the other side of the draw. The Connacht semi finals are scheduled for this weekend with Leitrim playing host to Mayo and Galway welcome Roscommon. In Munster the semi finals will see Clare taking on Tipperary while Cork face Kerry.
