Cuchulainn's fell to a five point defeat to Derry champions Glenullin in the Ulster intermediate championship.
Goals in either half proved the difference for Glenullin as they won out 3-15 to 19 points.
Cuchulainn's started stronger, racing into a four-point lead inside nine minutes with points from Adam O Reilly and Niall Magee.
Conrad Mullen got the Derry champions up and running after 11 minutes before Ryan McNicholl found the back of the Cuchulainn's net, leaving the sides level.
Bryan Magee and Evan Doughty both scored a point each as Cuchulainn’s retook the lead after 26 minutes. Cuchulainn’s leading seven points to 1-6.
Indeed, a two-pointer from Neil McNicholl sent Glenullin into the break with a three point lead. Cuchulainn's trailing at half-time, 1–7 to 0-7.
Donal O’Kane opened the second-half scoring with a free for Glenullin.
Mark Gilsenan replied with a fisted point for Cuchulainn. However, disaster struck on 40 minutes when Eoin Bradley got Glenullin second goal of the afternoon. Glenullin leading 2-9 to eight points.
Adam O’Reilly responded with a two-pointer for Cuchulainn’s after 42 minutes. However, Ferghal Close and Ryan McNicholl added points for Glenullin who had a firm grip on proceedings.
Bryan McGee and Adam O’Reilly got a two-pointer each as the Glenullin lead was reduced to five with 57 minutes played.
Whereas, Turlough Farrelly and Ryan Tobin points had Cuchulainn’s back within three as the game entered additional time at the end of the second-half.
However, Neil McNicholl sealed the win for Glenullin with a third goal of the afternoon for the Derry champions after 62 minutes.
