Goals prove costly for Inniskeen

The 2023 champions conceded to early goals and never fully recovered

Having suffered a disappointing defeat in last year's Monaghan senior hurling championship final, Castleblayney lifted the Mick Quigley cup for the seventh time in eight years; when beating defending champions Inniskeen on Sunday.

Two early goals from Brian McGuigan and Thomas Hughes gave Blayney a comfortable lead on the scoreboard.

While the Grattens made inroads into the lead during the course of the second-half. Their player/assistant manager Niall Arthur admitted the two goals were hard to come back from.
