Iniskeen have made it two wins from two in this year’s Monaghan championship with a tight two-point win over Aughnamullen.
Inniskeen scoring a 2-10 to 14 points in Aughnamullen after the hosts staged a late comeback.
A Jason Duffy free gave the hosts the lead after just three minutes. However, once the group leaders took the lead, they never looked like losing it.
After flipping the game on its head; Iniskeen found a goal on the 21st minute that left Aughnamullen with a large task in the second-half.
With a six point lead at the break, Iniskeen had the best possible start to the second-half, as the found the net for the second time.
Michael Bannigan did knock over a couple of frees for Aughnamullen including a two pointer late on for Micky Conlon’s side, but Iniskeen’s goals proved crucial as they ran out with a two point win.
