The opening round of the Irish Tarmac Rally championship gets underway this weekend with the Galway International rally. A full entry list will tackle 15 stages over Saturday and Sunday with the defending champions Josh Moffett and Andy Hayes the number 1 seeds in their Hyundai I20 R5. Meirion Evans and Jonathon Jackson are at number 2 in their Volkswagon Polo R5 with Callum Devine and Noel O'Sullivan in a similar car at number 3. Sam Moffett makes a return back to the R5 machinery and is seeded at number 4 in a new Hyundai. Cavan's Gary Kiernan with Darren O'Brien on the notes will lead of the modified section in their Mark 2 escort.
