The Citreon Driver made it back to back wins on the Ronnie Hawe Monaghan Stages Rally

Monaghan's Josh Moffett saw off the challenge of his brother Sam to win yesterday’s Monaghan Stages Rally.

The Monaghan pairing taking victory after an intense battle over nine stages.

Josh with Keith Moriarty on the notes held a slender one second lead going into the last loop of stages. However, the pair managed to pull out three fastest times in the Citroen C-3 to make it back-to-back victories on his home event winning by 11 seconds.

Speaking at the finish ramp; the defending national champion remarked he was surprised himself how he gained those extra few seconds on the last loop.

Eddie Doherty and Tom Murphy in the Skoda Fabia completed the top three with Daniel McKenna and Andrew Grennan the best of the modified crews taking 7th overall in their Mark 2 escort.

The Sligo Pallets drive of the day went to Martin Toner and Ben Taggart in their Proton. It was a tie breaker in the Junior category with Kyle McDaid and Shane Maguire claiming the win with a fastest time on the final stage in their Honda Civic.
