Leona Maguire loses out in LPGA Matchplay Semi-final

Leona Maguire lost out in the semi-final of the LPGA match-play championship, losing out 2&1 to Ayaka Furue of Japan.

Maguire lost the first hole having shot a bogey. However roles were reserved on the second hole, a lead Maguire kept until the fifth.

The Cavan native won both the sixth and seventh to move 2up. However Furue had brought the competition back to a tie on the 10th.

Furue took the lead on the 12th and went two up on the 15th, a hole Maguire conceded, Furue having shot a bogey five.

Both golfers shot par on 16 and 17 with Furue claiming victory and a place in the final against Pakaree Aannarukam, winning out 2&1.
