Magire shoots opening round 67

Leona Maguire is three shots off the lead after the opening round of the Women's Irish Open.

Despite bogeying two of her first four holes, Maguire carded a five-under par opening round. The Cavan golfer is three shots adrift of leader Lina Boquist.

Maguire shot eight birdies to move to five-under-par.

Of the rest of the Irish, Aideen Walsh shot a one under-par 71. Rebekah Gardner shot a two-over-par 74. 14-year-old Olivia Costello finished seven over and Victoria Craig finished eighth over.

On the course, Marina Moreno was one-over-par after 14. Katie Poots was three-over-par after 12.
