The Cavan golfer finished 12 shots behind the winner Jennifer Kupcho

2 under was enough to see Leona Maguire finished in 39 place at the Chevron classic over the weekend, the first Major of the LPGA tour. The Cavan golfer was 12 shots behind the winner Jennifer Kupcho who finished on 14 under. It was a mixed tournament for Leona who opened with an even par round of 72 before posting a 69 in the 2nd round to bring herself into contention at the top end of the table. A 74 in round 3 undone some of that good work and she finished with a final round of 71.

Five back-nine bogeys also saw Stephanie Meadow slip down the leader board on the final day. She closed with a one-over 73 to finish in a tie for 35th on three-under-par overall.
