Monaghan and Cavan are back in Division 1 and 2 action of the Allianz Football League respectively this weekend, with both sides looking for a first win to bolster their campaigns this year. In Division 1, Monaghan head to the capital to take on Dublin at Croke Park. Both sides as it so happens are looking for their first league wins of 2026, with Dublin falling to both Donegal and Mayo so far this season, while Monaghan have lost to Armagh and Roscommon. Throw in for that game is at 7pm on Saturday, and that’ll be live on Saturday Sport, with coverage beginning at 2pm.
Elsewhere, Cavan look to get their first victory of 2026 in Division 2 of the Allianz Football League, as they travel to Healy Park to face Tyrone on Sunday, with throw in at 3:45. It’s been a season of close margins for the Breffni County; they lost by one to Cork in their opening match, and lost by two to Meath in their last game. Cavan will be hoping that they’re winning by a fine margin instead of losing by one, and that match will be live on Sunday Sport, with coverage also starting on that one at 2pm.
Wins for both sides will take them out of the bottom two of their divisions if other results go their way, which will be vitally important for Monaghan to launch a shot at the title, and for Cavan to seek promotion to Division 1.
