Hurls at the ready

It was mixed fortunes for the sides in the opening round

Round 2 of the Allianz Hurling leagues throws in this weekend. First up will be Monaghan when the face Lancashire at the Abbotstown Centre of Excellence in Dublin tomorrow at 1pm in Division 4. The Farney side suffered a heavy loss to promotion favourites Sligo in round 1 with manager Arthur Hughes noting that winter hurling is not the easiest place to develop new players

That outing will be a first for Lancashire who had a bye in Round 1.
