Monaghan have named their team for the Ulster championship quarter final meeting with Cavan on Sunday in Clones. It shows a number of players returning back from injury and few that are set to miss out. Rory Beggan starts in goals with Darragh Mc Elearney, Ryan O' Toole and Dylan Byrne in the full back line. Cameron Dowd, Dessie Ward and Aaron Carey make up the half back line with Michael Mc Carville and Louis Kelly at the centre of the field. Karl Gallagher, Michael Bannigan and Stephen O'Hanlon are the half forwards while David Garland, Andrew Woods and Stephen Mooney complete the starting 15. The Cremartin man is a surprise inclusion as he had picked up a serious facial injury in training during the league and was thought to be out for the rest of the intercounty season.
Bobbie Mc Caul, Conor Mc Carthy and Killan Lavelle are named on the bench as they make a retrun from long term injuries. Ryan Wylie, Gary Mohan and Ryan Mc Anespie have not been named

Cavan have also named their team with 3 players set to make their senior championship debuts with Cormac Brady coming in at corner back, Eoin Clarke at centre half forward and Emmanual Shehu at left half forward. Liam Brady retains his position in goals with Jason Mc loughlin and Brian O'Connell along with Brady in the full back line. Gerard Smith, Ciaran Brady and Conor Brady are in the half back line with Ryan Donohoe and Gearoid Mc Kiernan at the centre of the field. Tiarnan Madden joins Clarke and Shehu in the half forward line with Dara Mc Veety, Patrick Lynch and Oisin Brady completing the starting 15. Niall Carolan is among those named on the bench.

While Cavan did retain their Division 2 status they did so by beating Offaly and Kildare who were both relegated. Coach with the team Diarmuid Scullion noted however there was a number of positives they could take from the campaign
