The Ulster GAA Healthy Club Award is a recognition of a club’s efforts in building healthy practises into their everyday activities, while also responding to the health and wellbeing needs of their members and their communities. Latton made a real impact in their community by including coordinating a safe walking club during the winter months, organising dancing classes for older members, and providing a community contact list that signposts members to key support services within the local area. Other steps taken by the club included involvement in the Ulster GAA Club Hero programme for people with disabilities, and organising events to promote awareness of mental health issues. As part of their prize, the club will receive O’Neill’s teamwear/equipment vouchers, courtesy of the Ulster Independent Clinic.
