Monaghan hurlers beat Lancashire by the smallest of margins

The Monaghan hurlers ended their Lory Meagher cup campaign with a 0-17 to 0-16 victory over Lancashire at Inniskeen.

Monagahn started better and led 0-11 to 0-6 at the half-time break; Danny Connolly, Luke McKenna and Declan Hughes were all to the fore for the hosts.

Lancashire were much better in the second half but still came up short in the end. Monaghan had nothing to play for however and finished the campaign in fourth place.
