Monaghan hurlers suffer crushing defeat to Armagh

The Monaghan hurlers fell to a heavy defeat in Allianz hurling league division 3A losing 4-22 to 0-13 to Armagh at Pairc Grattan in Inniskeen.

A Dean Gaffney goal on 28 minutes helped Armagh to a nine-point lead and the visitors held on to lead 1-12 to 0-7 at half-time.

Eoin McGuinness found the net eight minutes into the second half and 11 minutes later,Armagh moved 19 points clear when Ryan Gaffney added a third goal.

Tiarnan O’Neill registered Armagh’s fourth goal with six minutes remaining as the Orchard men finished the game with 21 points to spare.
