The Monaghan hurlers missed out on an Allianz hurling league division 3a final appearance after losing 2-23 to 0-16 away to Armagh.
The visitors dominated the first half and led 1-12 to 0-9 at the break. Shea Harvey with their goal seven minutes in.
Cormac Jennings added a second goal 60 seconds from time as Armagh ran out convincing winners.
