Monaghan hurlers suffer third straight defeat in Nickey Rackard Cup

The Monaghan hurlers’ winless start to the Nickey Rackard Cup continues following a third straight defeat to Donegal at Letterkenny.

Donegal dominated the contest and ran out convincing 4-27 to 0-15 winners at O’Donnell Park.

Donegal laid a solid foundation in the first half leading 1-14 to 0-7 at the break. Liam McKinney with a first-half goal for the hosts.

Oisin Grant, Declan Coulter and Gerard Gilmore added further goals in the second half as they ran out convincing winners.

Niall Arthur chipped in with nine points for Monaghan including eight frees.
