The concession of four first half goals prove costly as Monaghan fall to Laois defeat.
Laois got the opening goal in the third minute when Emma Lawlor found the back of the Monaghan net. Laois had the ball in the net for a second time then when Ciara Crowley raised the green flag.
Mo Nerney pointed a free before for Laois getting on the end of a great move between Eva Galvin and Emma Lawlor to convert her side's third goal in the opening 15 minutes.
Monaghan got a goal of their own when Sarah Tierney finished to the net. Laois’s registered their fourth goal five minutes when Eva Galvin set up Mo Nerney to score her second goal of the game.
Loais goals come good
Laois lead at the interval by seven points on a score line of 4-4 to 1-6.
Monaghan reduced the gap to five points and kicked the next three scores.
Laois made no mistake in closing out the game, with Lauren Kearney and Mo Nerney each registering points. Emma Lawlor got her side’s fifth and final goal of the game as Laois were victorious 5-7 to 1-12.
