Monaghan are through to the All-Ireland Intermediate Championship semi-final after a six point victory over Clare.
The hosts made the strongest start as a point from Chloe Moloney and a goal from Megan Downes had Clare four points up inside the opening two minutes.
However, Monaghan made a swift response as Eabha Sherry found the back of the net to reduce the gap to a point just shy of the 10 minute mark.
The sides remained a point apart until the 23rd minute of the first-half. Where points from Sherry and Holly McQuaid gave Monaghan the lead for the first time.
After a strong response from Clare, Sarah Tierney and Jennifer Duffy ensured a two-point lead for Monaghan at half-time.
Monaghan dominated the early stages of the second-half. A pair of Eabha Sherry scores putting them five points clear with 54 minutes on the clock.
Two from Chloe Moloney had Clare back within a goal of their opponents. However, Monaghan stayed strong and continued to have a comfortable lead on the score line.
There was still time for Sherry to add another pair of scores along with one from Niamh Flanagan to seal a six point victory and a place in the All-Ireland semi-final for Monaghan.
Monaghan winning out 1-14 to 1-8 and setting up a semi-final meeting with Laois overcoming Wexford. 1-17 to 2-12 after extra-time.
