Cavan make the premier junior final

Monaghan overcame Donegal with a commanding 14 point win in the All-Ireland junior semi-final played in Enniskillen.

Monaghan led by two points at half-time, 0-7 to 0-5. Three goals in a storming second-half performance, saw Monaghan book a place in the All-Ireland decider, running out 3-11 to 0-6 winners.

It marks a huge milestone for camogie in Monaghan, after ending a 15-year absence from fielding an adult camogie team. Monaghan will now face Mayo in the decider.

Whereas, Cavan earned a hard fought two point win over Tyrone in the Premier Junior Camogie Championship.

A Cavan goal from Aela O’Sullivan after 23 minutes, kept Cavan in touch as Tyrone took a three point half-time lead. 1-8 to 1-5.

Indeed, a Shanise Fitzsimons point from a free brought the sides level after 33 minutes. Cavan then took the lead two minutes later when Roisin O’Keefe made no mistake from open play.

An Aela O’Sullivan point from play on the brink of full time helped secure the win for Cavan. It finished Cavan 1-11 to Tyrone’s 1-9.
