Monaghan claimed a first Bank of Ireland Dr. Mc Kenna cup since 2003 with a 1-11 to 13 point win over Donegal in O'Neills sportswear Healy Park Omagh. Having lead by 6 points 1-07 to 0-04 at the break the introduction of a number of subs in the second half, seen Donegal up their game particularly with the introduction of Michael Murphy, while Monaghan did lose a little bit of their shape. It did end however in silverware for the Farney county and manager Seamus Mc Enaney was pleased with the outcome not only of the final but what he had gotten out of the competition and he spoke to our reporter Fergal Monaghan
