Monaghan minors get their Tier-2 All-Ireland championship underway this evening against Wexford in Abbotstown at 7:30pm in the preliminary quarter-final.
Having lost out to Armagh in the Provincial quarter final the Farney side entered the newly introduced tiered competition. Manager Dermott Malone remarked they would have one or two lessons to learn from the loss to the Orchard county.

Cavan who also lost out at the quarter final stage in Ulster will take on Wicklow on Saturday in the same competition in Kingspan Breffni at 2pm
