Monaghan Rugby Club's U-16 team will make history for the club this weekend. Coach Paddy McAloon says over three years ago the club started with around seven girls. After major efforts since then to grow numbers and entice more girls to get involved, there are now up to 33 girls between the U-14 and U-16 teams. Paddy revealed that in recent years the group has been amalgamated with other clubs. However, due growing numbers, the U-16 cohort for the first time ever in the history of Monaghan Rugby Club are going out on their own as a standalone team.
