An opening day loss has Monaghan at the wrong end of the league table

It is round 2 of the Allianz National Football league this weekend with lots to look forward to in Division 1 North. Monaghan make the trip to Ballybofey on Saturday for a 5 o clock to face a Donegal side who will high on confidence after their victory over Tyrone in Healy Park in the opening round. For the Farney side while certain positives could be taken from the performance against Armagh, it was still a loss, which has them all ready looking at a relegation battle, particularly if they take nothing from their trip away this Saturday evening.

David Mc Cague has taken over the role of team manager in the absence of the suspended Seamus Mc Enaney and the former Scotstown midfielder remarked he has felt no pressure with the position

Elsewhere in that group, Armagh and Tyrone meet in the Athletic Grounds at 7pm.

We will have live coverage of Monaghan against Donegal on an extended Saturday sport with thanks to Flack Brothers Peugeot Dealer Monaghan
