Patrician High School fall in All-Ireland bid

Patrician High School fell short in their bid to claim an All-Ireland schools B title with a four point defeat to Roscommon CBS.

A huge crowd showed up for Roscommon CBS, they faced off against Patrician High School in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

The sides exchanged two points apiece in the opening quarter of the game; However, Colin Murray drove through the Patrician defence before burying the ball into the bottom corner on 19 minutes.

The Carrickmacross side responded well, getting the next two scores of the game. But Roscommon CBS kicked on, and lead by six points at the interval.

Roscommon CBS began to flex their muscle into the second-half, and kept the scoreboard in their favour with free kicks from Christopher Feerick and Sam Hannon.

However, the Patrician High School kept their heads up and came on strong in the closing stages, scoring four points without reply to get themselves back within a goal with three minutes of normal time remaining.

Seamie Carthy’s point was the last kick of the game to seal the victory for Roscommon CBS, winning by a four point deficit. 1-13 to 12 points.
