Dublin, Cavan, Mayo and Tipperary will contest the All Ireland football semi finals in 2 weeks time after a dramatic weekend of action.

Mayo had already reached the last 4 a week ago when they claimed the Connacht title and Dublin joined them with their usual facile win in Leinster on Saturday when they defeated Meath by 21 points.

The shocks and history making was confined to Munster and Ulster yesterday (Sunday) as Tipperary claimed a first provincial title in 85 years with a 4 point victory over Cork and it was a similar margin in the Athletic grounds Armagh when Cavan ended a 23 year wait to lift the Anglo Celt cup.
