Magheracloone denied Scotstown a Monaghan league and championship double with a five point league final win.
A Dan McCahey goal after five minutes opened the scoring for Magheracloone.
Scotstown replied with four points. However, Dylan Farrelly struck past Rory Beggan again after 20 minutes to extend the advantage to four points.
Magheracloone hit eight consecutive scores, including three two-pointers as they took a 14 point advantage into the break. Magheracloone, leading 2-18 to four points.
Finlay, Foy got a much needed score for Scotstown after 45 minutes, reducing the Magheracloone lead to 10 points.
Further, scores followed, including a two pointer from Mattie McGuire offered hope for the Scotstown faithful in Aghnamullen.
A second Scotstown goal after 54 minutes, followed by further points from Finlay Foy and Mark McPhilips reduced the Magheracloone lead to four points coming into the closing stages.
However, Magheracloone withstood the second-half comeback to claim a five point victory and claim a Monaghan senior league title, 2-18 to 2-13.
