Scotstown booked a place in the Monaghan senior final after controlling the first-half against Clontibret.
Conor McManus added a two-pointer to put Clontibret five to the good moments later.
However, Scotstown didn’t let the shaky beginning stop them. A Rory Beggan two-pointer was added to by a goal of their own from Darragh Murphy.
It was a pair of quick fire goals, just two minutes later as Jack McCarron converted Scotstown’s second to give them a three point advantage. 2-5 to 1-5.
Indeed, Scotstown went into the break four points in front. This proved to be a solid foundation to go on and seal victory.
After a consistent flurry of scores it was Rory Beggan that put the final nail in the coffin for Clontibret. Beggan firing over a two-pointer with the last kick of the game, 2-15 to 1-12.
A thoroughly experienced display from Scotstown who will now prepare to face Iniskeen in the Monaghan SFC final.
