Second half comeback sees Carrickmacross through to Ulster JHC final

Carrickmacross advanced to the Ulster JHC final following a 2-13 to 0-18 victory over Na Magha at Carrickamore.

Na Magha were five points up on 14 minutes and the Derry champions held on to lead 0-11 to 0-6 at the half-time break.

Carrickmacross made a blistering start to the second half; Shane Slevin’s goal within a minute of the restart helped them reduce the gap to a single point at the three-quarter mark.

Parity was subsequently restored when Luke McKenna found the net with five minutes remnaining and the Monaghan champions emeged victorious after hitting three of the last five scores.

Carrickmacross will now play Craobh Rua in the Ulster JHC final after they defeated Con Magee’s 0-14 to 0-11 in the other last four tie.
