Shane Mc Guirk is the WDF world darts champion. The Monaghan man claimed the title last night at the Lakeside with a 6-3 win over Paul Lim. Making his debut at the championship's the Aughnamullen man reached the final without dropping a set and raced into a 4 nil lead against the Singapore Slinger. However Lim who remains the only player to have completed a nine darter at the iconic venue back in 1990, pulled back a number of sets before the Arrow claimed the all important winning set with double top. Speaking on the WDF Youtube channel after the win, Shane remarked it was a dream come true
