Expected return of crowds at sporting venues from next month

Fans are expected to return to match venues from June seventh with bigger crowds expected to be allowed from July.

It is expected that attendances of 100 at sports fixtures will be given the green light as part of the governments easing of restrictions set to be announced this evening, with that figure rising to 200 before July.

There are set to be a number of test events with the target of 25,000 being in attendance for the All-Ireland hurling and football finals in August.
