Monaghan manager questions the need to play it now

The Ulster ladies championship gets underway this evening (Friday 18th) with Monaghan facing the defending champions Armagh at the Athletic grounds at 7:30 in the quarter final. The Farney side will enter the game 6 days after their Division 2 league semi final loss to Kerry, an encounter that went to extra time and a free kick shoot out, while the Orchard county have had a weekend off after their loss in their final group game to Cavan denied them a last 4 spot. While the quarter finals and semi finals will be played over the next 2 weekends, no date has been set for the provincal final as the All Ireland series will then take place.
