Cavan, Monaghan, Tyrone and Derry will all avoid the preliminary round draw

The last of the provincial championship draws is due to take place this evening in Ulster. Cavan the defending champions, Monaghan, Tyrone and Derry will not be included in the preliminary round draw which will have Down, Fermanagh, Antrim, Donegal and Armagh. Two teams from those 5 will make up the opening round with the 4 remaining teams been added to the pot and the 3rd team out will then face the winner of that first encounter. The remainder of the draw will decide the quarter final pairings.

Earlier today in the Leinster championship Longford were drawn against Carlow with the winner set to meet Meath. Dublin the current All Ireland and provincial champions will face either Wexford or Wicklow. Kildare will take on the winners of Louth and Offaly with Laois and Westmeath the other pairing.
