A virtual meeting of the GAA management committee has not brought any further clarity to when Inter county action will return, but it was confirmed that no activity would take place while Covid 19 level 5 restrictions remain.
With the Government announcing earlier this week that the highest level would be in place till March 5th, that would push any thought of commencing the Allianz leagues out till April as counties are expected to be given a 4 week lead in time before competitions start.
A further knock on from that would be the moving of the All Ireland finals from July to August, as the association are keen to implement the split season to allow club football commence between league and championship.
