Arva Craft and Chat Group along with Kathleen Brady recently undertook the 'Trauma Teddies' project which exists in Northern Ireland. The group took it on as a community project which they say "wouldn't have been possible" without the Cavan Library Services.
The local craft group created comforting teddies for Cavan Gardaí to hand out to young or vulnerable bystanders in frightening situations. Nathalie Eakins from Arva in Co Cavan first set up the local crafts group six years ago.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Nathalie said joining the group is a great opportunity for someone to not only develop theirs skills in things like knitting and crocheting but to also have fun while giving back to the community and supporting those who need it most.
