Six-year-old Séamie Séan Ó Braonáin has gone and done it.
He has raised enough money to buy the dapper suit he had his heart set on at Gerard Anthony Menswear, Carrick-on-Shannon.
The youngster who was born in Co Cavan became the breakout star of Thursday's Fleadh25 live broadcast on TG4.
The son of renowned Kíla musician Seanan Ó Braonáin and musician/actress Fiona Maria Fitzpatrick who is originally from Putighan, Belturbet, Séamie Séan has been immersed in music from birth and singing since he was two years old.
He made the headlines after his busking at the Fleadh to save money for a suit that he loved went viral.
His mother Fiona who is from Belturbet agreed that he could get the suit if he raised the money himself, and raise it he did.
Tomorrow Séamie Séan will travel to Carrick-on-Shannon in full celebration mode making a grand arrival in a stretched limousine alongside his cousins who will serve as his “bodyguards” for the day. He’ll also be joined by dancers and musicians from Áirc Damhsa, founded by local treasure and artistic director, Edwina Guckian. It was Edwina who first suggested he visit Gerard Anthony Menswear when he originally went looking for dancing shoes as he was attending Áirc Damhsa’s Culture Camp in the town. There were no shoes, but he spotted the suit. And so, the story will come full circle on Saturday with a celebratory dance, fun and festivities.
