The Co. Cavan farmer who was protesting inside Bord Bia said the protest was a "huge victory".
Richard Moeran from Mountnugent was one of the 'Bord Bia 5' who protested for almost a month against the chairperson of Bord Bia Larry Murrin.
A full governance review of Bord Bia was announced yesterday, and will examine issues that have come to light during the controversy.
The Co. Cavan farmer said that the protestors more than they ever expected at the end of the protest.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Mr. Moeran said that the ministerial review announced by the Department of Agriculture was a "great victory" for Irish farmers.
He said that the ministerial review outlined concerns that the Minister for Agriculture had.
Mr. Moeran said: "We didn't know what the result was going to be going into the board meeting.
"We got more than we ever expected to get, when we walked in the door 28 days ago. It was a huge victory for family farms right across the country.
"There was a climbdown from the chairman, and he's agreed to step aside while they're holding board meetings," he added.
