Co Monaghan continues to have the lowest enrolment of Ukrainian pupils.

23 Ukrainian pupils are in schools across the county, with 16 in primary school and seven in post-primary education.

The number of Ukrainian pupils in Co Cavan schools is considerably higher, at 173.

Of this figure, 120 are in primary schools, while 53 are in post-primary education.

Nationwide, just under 7,285 Ukrainian pupils are enrolled in Irish schools, up from 5,843 in mid-May.

Ukrainian parents and guardians who plan to enrol their children for school in September are being asked to contact their Regional Education and Language teams in their catchment area.

The REALT teams are assisting families in helping secure places for children of school going age.
