An earthquake on the Costa Blanca in Spain has left locals and tourists shaken. At around 11.20pm last night, tremors shook the resort of Torrevieja, about an hour’s drive south of Alicante city.
The Spanish Eye reports the epicentre was five kilometres from the holiday hotspot and measured a three on the Richter scale. The resort is popular with both Irish and British holidaymakers.
Locals report "a very loud noise", "almost being thrown out of bed", and the "whole house shaking".
