A North Monaghan councillor is calling on the HSE to issue urgent funding for the Errigal Truagh Special Needs Centre. The issue was raised by Cllr Bronagh McAree who highlighted the urgent need for expansion works at the local facility to go-ahead. The facility requested funding that would allow them to expand the service to provide day respite for children at the weekends.
According to Cllr McAree, the group already has a purpose built facility and is a suitable facility, they also have plans to build an extension to the facility and are "shovel ready" with planning permission secured. As a result, a motion was passed calling for Health Minister and the HSE to expedite the process of approval for extension works to take place at Errigal Truagh Special Needs site at Knockconan:
